"Champions train when no one else is watching."
-Training on your own is an obsession for the champion. There are no off days. Every day is the day. We are either pushing forward or falling back. These 1000 hours are between you and your dreams. You wake up each new day thinking about how to get better. Your performance is personal to you. And you want to shine under the bright lights. If this doesn't describe you, you are not a champion.
"Champions are built to last."
-Having what it takes to finish is what separates the best from the rest. Anyone can start something. It takes a champion to finish. Are you built to last? Is this really important to you? If it is you will train to last. Mentally you will not lose focus and get off course. And physically you will work hard and rest. You will be stronger at the end of the year than the beginning of the year. You are built to last. You are a finisher. And you will be the last one standing.
"Champions choose conflict over comfort."
-Conflict and battling are the tools used to sharpen the player. The game is filled with many contested moments that require enormous toughness and persistence. Only the relentless survive. The game has no room for softness. The extra effort must become the norm. And the extra effort is the only place where success is found. In practice players must learn to love the conflict. The fight must be won there. The comfortable always have a breaking point. The talent is there, but the toughness is missing. And those who wanted a comfortable journey will be sent home sooner than they hoped for.
"Champions want the highest standards."
-The highest standards are found within every title game. The demands placed on every player is extreme. The pressure is high. And everyone must perform. It's in these moments that training must kick in. If your players have been tested in practice then they can be trusted in the game. Competitive full speed practice with conflict and challenges that must be met creates a winning mentality. And that's what makes the difference.
